Every year South Haven Lodge Care Home holds a 'Family Day' for their residents, and their family and friends. All are welcome every day but this is an extra-special party, thrown to celebrate family and life at the Home.
This year's party was held on Saturday 29 July and entertainment was provided by Doorstep Entertainments. Doorstep Entertainments is a 'not-for-profit' organisation, linked to the Arts, and formed to enable people to engage in entertainment to enhance well being and quality of life. The company is run by Colin, Lynn and Vic, and the trio performed music and comedy, taking us around the world. There was even a visit from Elvis.
Alongside the music and fun, staff at South Haven Lodge, put on an impressive BBQ spread, with burgers and hot dogs, a fantastic raffle, Guess The Name of the Teddy and How Many Sweets in the Jar, raising £300.00 in total, which will go towards Christmas entertainment.
Becky O'Neill, Activities Coordinator for South Haven Lodge, commented, "Family day is a relaxed way of spending quality time together, with family and friends. It's about fun, laughter and celebrating life."

"During and after a party at South Haven, the atmosphere in the home is wonderful. It's the perfect excuse to eat, drink and be merry, and our residents love it."
