National Care Home Open Day, now in it's 6th year, encourages care homes to welcome their local community into the home, to enable new friendships, connect generations and to value older and vulnerable people.
New Century Care has, once again, taken the opportunity to celebrate the National Day, in each of our homes in the South of England. This year's theme was 'linking communities' and the day also fell on Her Majesty The Queen's Birthday, which was a double excuse to throw a party.
Our hard-working Activities Coordinators and Home Managers arranged entertainers, musicians and party games, decorated living spaces with bunting, balloons and banners, and worked with our chefs to create delicious feasts.
There were fancy dress competitions, singers, jazz bands and dancing, and we were lucky enough to have visits from Mayors, local MP's, family, and friends of all ages.
New Century Care helps link communities through holding open day parties.
COO, Phil Smith, commented, "This day is a really important event for everyone at New Century Care, to not only change perceptions of what care homes are like, but to celebrate our residents living well, by welcoming everyone to celebrate with us."
He went on to say, "All of the parties were a roaring success and everyone I spoke to had a wonderful time. Congratulations to our staff who worked so hard to make it possible."
