Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day, was enjoyed by all of our care homes this year. From making, to flipping, to decorating competitions, good fun was had by all.

Residents across New Century Care’s 21 care homes were treated to some extra special Pancake Day celebrations on Tuesday, 13 February.

Pancake Day fun.

Chefs at each of our care homes organised a masterclass in pancake making for the residents – teaching them the best way to make a pancake and how to flip it without it ending up on the floor!

Family, friends and local school children were invited along to the fun and encouraged to join in the fun, with some homes going the extra mile to organise pancake decorating competitions.

Phil Smith, Chief Operating Officer at New Century Care, commented:

A flipping marvellous Pancake Day for New Century Care residents #PancakeDay2018

“Pancake day is one of the highlights of our year – all the residents can join in with the fun of flipping a pancake and choosing the toppings.

It is also an excellent opportunity for us to invite the local community to the homes and encourage our residents to foster closer ties with their communities.”
