CONGRATULATIONS To ALAN CRAWFORD
WINNER OF THE 2011 GREAT BRITISH CARE AWARDS NORTH EASTERN ANCILLIARY CATEGORY
Alan who maintains our home was presented with his award in recognition of 17 years service to the residents of Hazelgrove Court Care Home.

Were all finalists Tina, Joanne and Dee were presented with an award during a ceremony at the Hilton Newcastle on Saturday 19th November.
We are thrilled to hear that 4 of our staff members have been successful in their individual categories for "The Great British Care Awards"

We wish them all every success for the finals to be held on Saturday 19th November at The Hilton, Gateshead
We are also proud to announce that we have 2 staff in the National Care Award finals. Denise Broughton for "Chef of the year" and Allen Crawford for "lifetime achievement".

News and Events from Hazelgrove Court Care Home:
• Hazelgrove Court prides it's self on its range of therapeutic and varies activities program. We have a very enthusiastic Activities Program (Joanne Burdett) she is always sourcing new ideas and would happily tailor the activities to suit the individuals needs.
• Throughout the week we have various games and ball exercises, also we have pamper sessions, hand and foot massages, we also have pet visits which include snakes, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, baby chicks.
• Every Wednesday: Bingo held at Hazelgrove Court, everyone welcome
• Hazelgrove now has its very own Xbox Kinect and Karaoke Machine
• 24th May : Visit from Hartlepool Museum
• May 28th: Garden Party with singer Freddie Waters
• 23rd July: Summer Fete at the Red Barns Hotel, Redcar from 11am till 4 pm with bouncy castle, games, bbq, various other stalls and live entertainment. Everyone welcome.
• 15th June: Singer James Summers will be performing
• Friday 17th June: Singers Stan and Colin will be performing
• Thursday 23rd June: Singer Jim Barns will be performing.
• 17th August: Singer Eric White will be performing.
• 30th September: The Market Fisherman's Choir at 7pm followed pie and peas. Tickets are now on sale price at £1.50.
• 7th October: Janie St John will be performing
• 16th November: Singer Eric White will be performing
• Friday 16th December: Christmas Party with singer Janie St John. All Welcome

1940's - 1950' s lounge
Hazelgrove Court are trying to create a 1940's - 1950' s lounge, any items from this period would be greatly received. Please contact Damian on 01287 625800 if you have anything to donate.
Raffle
Raffle tickets on sale at Hazelgrove Court in aid of the residents funds for outings and entertainment throughout the summer. £1 per strip. 1st prize Sat Nav. Various other prizes. Please contact Damian if you would like to donate a prize or purchase raffle tickets. Bonus ball - £1 each. If anyone wishes to purchase a number please contact Linda Dale at Hazelgrove Court.
Meat Raffle
Every second friday Hazelgrove raffles a mixed grill tray £1 per ticket. Please contact the home if you require a ticket.

7th July ladies Choir at 2pm, all welcome.
Hazelgrove Court Summer BBQ Success!
Many thanks to everyone who joined us at Hazelgrove Court Care Home on Friday 17thJuly for our Summer Garden BBQ. Much fun was had by all and £130 was raised for our residents fund!
Music
22nd July: Music will be performed by Janie St. John from 2pm.

Line Dancing
Come and practice your line dancing listening to the music of Eric White on Tuesday 11th August from 2pm onwards
Church Service
Church service to be held at Hazelgrove on 12 August at 2pm all welcome.
Music
Come and get on your dancing shoes listening to music and songs from times gone by with Howard Evans on Monday 24th August from 2pm. All welcome
60th Wedding Anniversary Celebrations!
Hazelgrove and staff are proud to announce the 60th Wedding Anniversary of two of their residents Mr. and Mrs. Thorn on the 30th July. Please come and join us to celebrate this event with them at 2pm
Every week
Every week we play prize bingo. Please ring the home for dates.
We also do various arts and crafts and pamper sessions every week and have visits from KEPP the pat dog.
The Beamish museum
The Beamish museum will be bringing artefacts from years gone by to the home on Thursday 24th September at 2pm. Everybody welcome to join us
Deacon Jane Gibson will be holding a choir service on wed 23rd September at 2pm. All welcome
Remembrance service
On October the 6th at 11am we are holding a remembrance service at Hazelgrove Court for all the residents who have passed away in the last year. This will be led by Deacon Jane Gibson and Damian. Following the service there will be the releasing of the balloons and scattering of forget me knot seeds in the garden then a buffet tea will be served in the dining room. This service will be held annually within the home.
