The Manager at Aaron House is supported by an experienced team of staff who are all trained in looking after people, including those with complex care needs. The care is person centred and is tailored for the individual; so that each person living with us has their own personal plan of care that’s unique to them and meets their emotional, psychological, spiritual, social as well as physical and personal care needs. Staff ensure that independence is promoted and dignity is maintained at all times.

As you would expect from New Century Care and Aaron House, our professional standards are high. We employ experienced Registered Nurses and Care Assistants, who continue their professional development with further training to ensure that we provide 24 hour professional support for the people living in Aaron House. The ethos of care at Aaron House is to provide a balance between promoting and supporting independence whilst providing personal residential care. Staff respect the rights of the residents, maintaining their dignity and independence at all times.
About Aaron House
At Aaron House Care Home you can relax in the attractive and comfortable lounge as well as an open dining areas, with quiet areas where you can read, chat or spend time with your family and friends.
All rooms have all the necessary safety features such as smoke detectors and a Nurse-Call system to ensure 24-hour confidence and reassurance.
Bedrooms
You have your own room so you can maintain your independence and privacy-although if you wish, you can spend time with your fellow residents in the lounge or dining area. We know how important it is to have time and space to yourself, so we put a lot of effort into making sure your room is pleasant, comfortable and personal to you.
Bedrooms are homely and comfortable and offer television aerial sockets and telephone points. All bedrooms are tastefully decorated with room for you personal belongings, so you can dress your room in a way to make it feel your own.
Our person centred care plans can be seen across all areas of provision – in our cooking, menu choices, hospitality, housekeeping and the organisation of activities for our residents.

Stimulation and activities are particularly important to our resident’s who enjoy physical and mental activities such as baking, reminiscence sessions, painting, music, arts, gardening, and armchair exercise, all of which helps bolster their strength and energy, improves their appetite and humour as well as offering them the opportunity to interact with staff and other residents.
We offer the highest quality of care which is supported by a variety of visiting healthcare professionals such as a local GP, dentist, optician, physiotherapist and chiropodist. There are regular visits from representatives of different religions, who also hold services in the home.
Outside the Home
Located approximately 10 miles for Edinburgh City centre the original Aaron House building was a 1855 Mansion House built by a prominent Edinburgh family.
The home is surrounded by large well established grounds, with a number of trees that have interesting histories, which is an ideal place to enjoy the summer months.
