The Summer Fete 2011 was a great success, Residents, Staff, Families and Friends all had a lovely afternoon in the garden.
We were entertained by flamenco dancers, and had lots of stalls including a Tombola, Face painting, Tarot Readings, Cakes and Manicures as well as Refreshments and a giant teddy and hampers to raffle.
We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the event, and to give a special mention to the staff who came on their days off to work on the stalls, serve the tea's and make the day go so well.
We raised a total of £506.70 for our residents Fund and Residents are currently busy deciding how they would like to make use of the money!
We have also had lots of four legged friends visiting recently, Rusty the Donkey visited from the Elizabeth Svelsden Donkey Sanctuary which everyone loved, and smaller four legged friends have been regular visitors due to popular demand!

“It’s never too late to learn something new”
Sylvia Collier, resident at Aaron Court Care Home in Ellesmere Port who celebrates her 90th Birthday this year enjoyed learning how to make Indian bread at the Links Healthy Living Centre as part of Adult Learners Week. Sylvia, who has travelled all over the world and lived in Thailand, said “The course was interesting and I enjoyed the afternoon. It’s never too late to learn something new.”
The afternoon course brought back many happy memories for Sylvia, of her mother who was always baking at home, and of her father who worked in a flour mill and would bring home bags of flour for her mother to bake with.
